SI LINISTEA ARE PULS

TEATRU ANDRE MURESANU, SFANTU GHEORGHE, ROMANIA

The adaptation of the play, ‘Even Stillness Breathes Softly Against A Brick Wall’ by Brad Birch, follows 3 young couples facing the monotony of their day to day existance almost entirely narrated by themselves. The slow build up of tention, love, lust and life acts as a great reflection on to modern society and cubical working lives which eventually leads to their meltdown.

Orginally created for just 2 actors, this forth collaboration with Director Horia Suru pushed the idea of the forth wall physically and technically with carefully choreographed movements in space in which actors move through a house with their sound travelling with them. The immersive concept of the show asks the audience to move and travel freely in the space, choosing which character they prefer to watch.

AMPHITRION 38

TEATRU BACOVIA, BACAU, ROMANIA

AMPHITRION 38 is a play written in 1929 by the French dramatist Jean Giraudoux, the number in the title being Giraudoux's whimsical approximation of how many times the story had been told on stage previously.

Based on the Greek legend of Zeus' rape of Alcmene, wife of Amphitryon, illustrates that neither the wiles of men nor the caprices of gods are effective against the constancy of devotion of a wife (Alkmena.) Jupiter attempts to rape Alkmena but discovers he must reckon with a woman far too intelligent to be led astray by passion

Directed By Horia Suru, Choreography by Sophie Duncan and Set Design by Cristian Marin.

POLE THEATRE HONG KONG WIN

HONG KONG ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS

Debuting in her first Pole Theatre Competition, Sophie wins the Semi Pro Drama category back in the city she received her first pole dance title, Hong Kong.

Hosted by Aerial Arts Academy, the competition features Semi Pro and Professional levels performing in 4 categories: Drama, Art, Comedy and Exotic.

The event took place in the renowned Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in Wan Chai, on Hong Hong Island. Less than one year ago, Sophie performed in her first amateur pole competition, Pole Idol Hong Kong, winning her category and also winner of Best Choreography and Overall Winner.

“Looking back, its insane that I’ve come full circle from entering an amateur comp just to see where I stand in the pole world, to then come back to compete in such a well known event, and also winning. The only problem now; I have this and UKPPC wins, so I have to compete in either Elite or Professional categories…everything just got a bit more real!”
