AMPHITRION 38 is a play written in 1929 by the French dramatist Jean Giraudoux, the number in the title being Giraudoux's whimsical approximation of how many times the story had been told on stage previously.
Based on the Greek legend of Zeus' rape of Alcmene, wife of Amphitryon, illustrates that neither the wiles of men nor the caprices of gods are effective against the constancy of devotion of a wife (Alkmena.) Jupiter attempts to rape Alkmena but discovers he must reckon with a woman far too intelligent to be led astray by passion
Directed By Horia Suru, Choreography by Sophie Duncan and Set Design by Cristian Marin.

The solo is not just an homage to the wonderful Marlyn Monroe, but in honour of all celebrity and people who find themselves lost behind a facade, and too often disappear from our lives in a whirlwind of tragedy.
